KARENINA DE LOS SANTOS | BIO
Karenina de los Santos, from Porto Alegre (Brazil), studied Dance at the Faculty of Arts of Paraná (2000-2004). Her work is an adventure in the crossing of vocabularies, mediums and supports (dance, visual arts, performance, video and urban intervention).

Her first piece, “Visita Guiada. A Difícil tarefa de não interpretar o que se vê" (Guided Tour: The Difficult Task of Not Interpreting What Is Seen) premiered at Festival Panorama in Rio de Janeiro in 2005 and was later presented at various festivals and events in Brazil.

In 2007, her piece “FF>>” was awarded the ITAÚ Cultura prize for videodance, marking her entrance into the international circuit. “FF>>” was presented in 18 countries, at major festivals and showcases such as Dança em Foco (Rio de Janeiro / Brazil, 2007);  LeCube (Paris, France 2008); IMZ -Dance Screen (The Hague/Holland, 2008); and NU2´s (Barcelona/Spain, 2008). "FF>>" is featured in the Archivo Mundial de Artes Cénicas at La Casa Encendida (Madrid / Spain) and in the Mercosul Videodance Circuit of South America DVD.

Karenina works in Lisbon, but despite loving what she does, she has considered moving to an eco-bio-auto-sustainable farm at least four times this time. She isn’t sure if she would rather be famous or a good person, and her upcoming projects are about love.
