In 2003 Berlin started the project Holocene [the current geological period], a series of city portraits made annually. Characteristic of Berlin is her interdisciplinary work methods. Focusing on a specific research question, she engages different media depending on the content of the project. Berlin collaborates with diverse artistic as well as academic fields. Berlin chooses to present their work on a variety of different circuits: live theatres, festivals, museums, on location… All projects stay on repertoire. The basis of future projects will continue to be a city or region somewhere in the world.
