What are five magnificent belgian
shepard dogs, their trainers, a philosopher, a psychoanalist,
a disquieting figure of the resistance and a former
legionnaire doing together on stage? Since May 2005,
Michel Schweizer has kept a fertile dialogue with Dany
Robert Dufour, philosopher, and Jean-Pierre Lebrun,
psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, about the problems
and hypotheses advanced in their recent works. It develops
a reflection around the mutations of the contemporary
subject, as it is being formatted and subjugated by
the vast project of capitalism. BLEIB questions the
new social and psychological attitudes, created by
the project of generalized alienation: the “man without
gravity”.
BLEIB sets out to discover the lie of a “free” society,
where the subject, placed in the very centre of the
system, is invited to imagine himself as the sole decision-maker
of the organization of his world. This creates a human
animal available for all manipulations.
« Barbarity
is a social order based not longer on symbolical, but
on real power. From the moment that the established
power is sustained – and refers to – its own force
and no longer seeks to defend or protect anything else
beyond its own existance as power, its statute of power,
we have arrived at a state of barbarity. Do you know
one of the important manifestations of power of our
times that is not a manifestation of barbarity ? » - Charles Melman, entretiens
avec Jean-Pierre Lebrun, L’homme sans gravité, jouir
à tout prix
Alarming and new in this system is that it is constructed
on blind subservience and the incapacity of the subject
to resist – unless in the most tragic way - these new
forms of power. Forms that have found their best actors-allies
in the citizens-consumers we have become.
