At the university of her hometown Bogotá,
Colombia, Zoitsa Noriega studied visual arts and entered
the student Company Danza COM U-N. She decided to stick
to dance and studied for two years at the Instituto Universitario
de Danza of Venezuela. Since 2000, she is director of the
Grupo de Danza Contemporánea de la Universidad Nacional
de Colombia and coordinates the project Centro de Experimentación
Coreográfica.
Magdalena Sloncova started to attend dance classes by Eva
Blažíýková in 1980, based on the principles of Isadora
Duncan, and entered Blažíýková’s Chamber Dance Company
II. She studied midwifery in Prague and physical therapy
in Oslo. Currently, she collaborates with Kristýna Lhotáková
and Ladislav Soukup.
Zoitsa and Magdalena met each other during
the project coLABoratório - South American European Choreographers
Meeting, organized by Festival Panorama de Dança (Rio de
Janeiro) between November 2006 and March 2007, in collaboration
with ArtsAdmin (London), Theatre Institute Prague and alkantara.
During the final phase of this project, they jointly created
to be SE(r)QUENCES, based on the desire to create a piece
in an empty space with extra-corporal (paper) and immaterial
(wind) elements.
